Data Center Technician
The Data Center Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and managing the physical and technical infrastructure of our data center. This role requires strong technical skills in optical fiber troubleshooting, power systems, patch panel management, and subsea cable systems, with the ability to work independently and provide 24x7 support.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform optical troubleshooting using power meters and testers to diagnose and resolve fiber optic issues
- Manage patch panels and fiber routes, ensuring proper fiber management and thorough documentation
- Support installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of subsea cable systems including PFE and subsea architecture
- Maintain and troubleshoot AC and DC power systems for reliable data center operation
- Utilize optical testers, power meters, and hand tools for maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics
- Provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotational basis to resolve urgent technical issues
- Support project completion by coordinating technical tasks and providing progress updates
Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of patch panels, fiber management, and subsea cable architecture
- Strong understanding of AC/DC power systems, including maintenance and troubleshooting
- Proficiency with optical power meters, testers, and relevant diagnostic tools
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently
- Experience supporting 24x7 operations in a data center environment
- Project management skills — ability to lead or coordinate technical projects
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
