Just recently, NJFX announced construction is underway for a brand new, energy-efficient data center in Wall, New Jersey, that will provide direct—and thus, affordable—cable-head interconnection access to enterprises, cable companies, carrier-neutral operators and service providers. This facility will bridge a network of subsea cables from three locations: Europe, South America and the U.S. It will make NJFX the only U.S. data center collocated with multiple subsea cable landings interconnecting three continents.
In establishing this new data center, NJFX will connect a global network of more than 240 countries and territories, as well as 99.7 percent of the world’s GDP, through the massive subsea fiber network of its partner, Tata Communications (America), Inc.
What’s more, NJFX will serve as the exclusive carrier-neutral Meet-Me Room (MMR) operator inside of Tata Communications’ Wall, New Jersey, Cable Landing Station (CLS). This means that NJFX tenants will gain increased connectivity to leading service providers in the CLS, as well as to Tata’s premium Ethernet, Wavelength, Dedicated Internet Access (DIA), Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) and cloud services.
The NJFX facility, which is expected to be up and running by 2016, will measure 64,800 square feet, and will offer the latest Tier 3 computing infrastructure on the market as well as over 1,000 cabinets for flexible and scalable carrier-neutral connectivity. Additionally, the facility will have expanded capacity for high-density power operations and express dark fiber routes to several facilities-based carriers across the U.S.
