Take Us Back to the NJFX Launch!

September 21, 2016

On September 21st, one year after breaking ground on its Tier 3, carrier-neutral facility, the NJFX team welcomed guests to what was considered by all, a data center launch to remember. The two-story, 64,800-sq. ft. colocation facility located in Wall, New Jersey opened its doors for the first time to mark the completion of the second phase of the NJFX campus build out.

With a number of key sponsors including Tata Communications, Lightpath, Windstream, Sparkle and more, the event was guaranteed to not disappoint. And even though the room was filled with scrumptious food, beverages and strategic networking opportunities, NJFX Founder and CEO, Gil Santaliz, took the celebration a few steps further.

None other than Formula One race car legend himself, Mr. Mario Andretti, made an appearance and participated in an intimate fireside chat – moderated by JSA CEO Jaymie Scotto Cutaia and featuring Mr. Santaliz and COO of Tata Communications, John Hayduk – to discuss career highlights, challenges and what “drove” him to become the fastest.

As part of sponsoring the event, Tata Communications installed its virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) F1® experiences that gave attendees the opportunity to feel the adrenaline rush of racing in the Grand Prix. Attendees raced for the fastest time and those that stayed high on the leaderboard went home with a F1 helmet signed by Mr. Andretti himself.

“This launch event was crucial for our team. It not only marked the day that we accomplished our goal of building the first Tier 3 carrier neutral colocation campus that intersects where subsea cables from around the globe meet,” comments Santaliz. “But it also allowed our friends and family to see that hard work really does pay off with enough focus, determination and help from your friends and colleagues.”

Tier 3 By The Subsea

Tier 3 By The Subsea

November 20, 2016

NJFX today opens the doors to its brand new 64,800-aquare-foot, Tier 3, carrier-neutral data center that intersects where subsea cables from around the globe meet. This marks the expansion of the colocation campus, as NJFX has operated the exclusive carrier-neutral Meet-Me-Room (MMR) inside Tata Communications cable landing station (CLS) in Wall, New Jersey for the past year.  The facility breaks the traditional communications infrastructure mold and redefines proximity thanks to direct interconnection.

Cable operators don’t traditionally allow network operators into CLS facilities. NJFX’s strategic location tackles this obstacle by being located immediately next door to Tata Communications’ CLS with 250 conduits connecting the two buildings. This enables unparalleled connectivity thanks to the resulting direct access to subsea and terrestrial cables that offer global, low latency interconnectivity.

The ability to interconnect at the cable-head not only redefines proximity by eliminating the need for traditional backhaul, but also puts control back in the hands of the customers.

  • Direct Connectivity to leading service providers within Tata’s CLS and secured express routes with several facility-based carriers
  • Direct Access to robust international capacity and the availability of Tier 1 ISP services with multiple fiber-based providers offering regional, national and independent international networks
  • Interconnection Options, at the cable head-end, for service providers, enterprises, carrier-neutral operators and cable companies without recurring cross-connect fees
  • Direct Peering and the ability to design high-capacity, low latency networks directly to and from the cable head, minimizing the need for traditional backhaul connectivity. This removes a detour to New York City, eliminates choke points and lowers cost and latency.

New Jersey Fiber Exchange (NJFX) broke ground less than a year ago on its Tier 3, carrier-neutral data center and in just a week it will open its doors to over-the-top (OTT) content providers, multinational enterprises, ISPs, carriers and dark fiber network providers. The official launch of the new facility, taking place on September 21, marks the completion of the second phase of the NJFX campus build out.

NJFX is currently in discussions with strategic customers with larger footprint requirements of over 150 high density cabinets. It will focus its efforts on retail cabinets for carriers, OTT’s and Enterprise cages for up to 50% of its primary business, ensuring direct access to the world’s only Tier 3 Transatlantic Cable Landing Station Campus. The campus directly interconnects Europe, South America and North America with 8 unique fiber base US carriers in the North East to provide unprecedented route diversity end-to-end.

Completing the build of the new Tier 3 compliant data center in just one year was an incredible feat made possible by Frank Farrugia, Senior Manager of Facilities Operations at Equinix, who brought over 40 years of experience as the designer of the site and the dedicated crews that worked tirelessly to bring this industry-changing idea to life. The build is all the more impressive when you look at the stats.

New Jersey Fiber Exchange to Sponsor and Speak at Capacity Latam 2015

New Jersey Fiber Exchange to Sponsor and Speak at Capacity Latam 2015

NJFX Founder and Managing Member Gil Santaliz to Discuss Redefining Proximity with Direct Interconnection to International Submarine Cable Systems

March 16, 2015

WALL, NJ  – New Jersey Fiber Exchange (NJFX), a leader in data center consulting and colocation, announces that its Founder and Managing Member, Gil Santaliz, will sponsor Capacity Latam 2015, taking place March 17–18, 2015 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.  Now in its 12th year, Capacity Latam is set to become the largest meeting place for the entire Latin American wholesale telecommunications market.  The conference will converge carriers, vendors, subsea cable companies, satellite companies and more for two days of discussions on the biggest themes in the Latin American market.

Mr. Santaliz will speak during the 11:00 AM coffee break on the morning of Wednesday, March 18.  He will introduce the concept of interconnecting at the intersection of subsea cables connecting the US, South America, Europe and the Caribbean.  This new interconnection point, to be made available by NJFX, allows telecom carriers, enterprises and content providers in Latin America as well as the rest of the world to design and construct more efficient networks, thus enabling faster, reliable and more cost-efficient delivery of content as well as high-bandwidth applications.

NJFX is building the first Tier III carrier-neutral colocation facility that intersects where subsea cables from the US, South America, Europe and the Caribbean meet at the easternmost edge of the United States.  Anticipated to go live in 2016, the network interconnection point provides carriers, enterprises, carrier-neutral operators and cable companies with direct interconnection options at the cable-head without recurring costs on cross-connects.  The new edge allows carriers and enterprise companies to have more control of their networks rather than rely on traditional backhaul solutions.  Carriers and enterprises using the NJFX location will also have access to Tata Communications’ global connectivity, built on the world’s largest and most advanced global subsea cable network.

NJFX is a proud Associate Sponsor of Capacity Latam 2015.  Companies interested in learning more about the connectivity benefits available by collocating at NJFX are urged to complete a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and schedule a meeting with Gil Santaliz at Capacity Latam 2015.  To schedule a meeting, please visit www.NJFX.net.
